Fire Benefit Concerts for Michael and Rebekah
- Fund Drive, and Benefit Concerts of Feb 25 and Mar 18 -

The Moose and Rebekah on their former porch
The Moose and Rebekah on their former porch

On January 31st, an electrical fire destroyed Michael "The Moose" Dmoch and Rebekah Lowden's home and virtually all of their belongings. They were in the middle of negotiating a new insurance policy, and are only marginally covered. Also, one of their two beloved cats Lilly the Tabby is missing and presumed dead. Those of us who run the Street Festival, and Ulster County's music scene as a whole, extend our sympathies and resources to Michael and Rebekah.

Together the couple form Redwood Moose, familiar for their many musical performances, and their tireless work in organizing area music concerts. Outside of years of work on the Street Festival, they also created the Rosendale Homegrown FolkFest and ran a festival series in Rosendale's new Willow Kiln Park. As a part of their musical endeavors, they are members of the activist singing group Voices for Peace and Woodstock classical group Ars Choralis.

"We want to convey our gratitude to all of you. We are deeply touched by the strong wave of support, emotional and otherwise that has come to us in the past few days. We love this town of Rosendale, and its sometimes fractious people. We are immensely affected by the wave of love coming to us from our community. Our deepest thanks to all."
Love, Michael and Reb

Changed
Todd Giudice Todd hails from New York's Hudson Valley and has been performing as a solo acoustic artist in the Northeast for the last five years. His unique style of songwriting could be characterized as "Folk-Rock with Roots-Americana on the side". Todd blends an evocative lyric style with his inventive and rhythmic guitar playing. Listeners often feel the deeper emotional components of Todd's songs woven into the melodies; beauty, elation, loss and regret.

Changed
The Virginia Wolves Sensitive songwriting, beautiful harmonies, and eclectic instrumentation make this local duo a must-see.
6:00pm Flames of Discontent A politically edgy duo (and sometimes trio), playing both originals and folk classics.
6:30pm Mikhail Horowitz & Gilles Malkine This witty and energetic duet caps off the evening, most likely with their usual shocking antics, excellent musicianship, and provoking commentary.
7:00pm North Country Boys Play jazzy instrumentals, bluegrass and originals; the band features guitarist Rob Logsdon and drummer/singer Tim Whalen.
7:30pm Bar Scott An outrageously accomplished singer-songwriter with a beautiful sense of melody; and poignant, intellient lyrics.
8:00pm Big Joe Fitz A heady mixture of swinging blues, sinuous, slow boil funk, and deeply soulful ballads. He's well known as the host of WDST's long running Bluesbreak program
